The objective of the visit was the characterization of tar formation during the gasification of distinct residual forest biomass species from the Portuguese forests, using a novel tar sampling methodology (SPA). This was achieved and will enrich the biomass gasification research being performed at the University of Aveiro, which is partly funded by the pulp and paper industry (The Navigator Company).
